Ther are plenty of things to do in Medellin - here are some suggestions...

This page is dedicated to the best things to do in Medellin.

Other than the famous Botero museum there are plenty of attractions in Medellin that are equally interesting and worth checking out.

Art in Medellin

Here you will find an overview of a wide range of art and cultural production in Medellin, ranging from the Botero Museum to alternative spaces that are overlooked by the major tourist guides.

Your help in building this information will be invaluable to us as we wish to support and give exposure to the art-scene of Medellin - a vital aspect of its overall culture.

Pueblito Paisa

Fine, it's touristy and completely fake but really, I rather enjoyed the visit and especially the view that is phenomenal!

El Hueco

This shopping district in the center is a bustling district of indoor corridors and streets packed to the brim with bargains and goods of all sorts ranging from clothing to electronics.

Take in the energy as you stroll around. It´s a colorful, unpredictable and lively experience.

Calle Junin

If you're heading downtown, perhaps to the Botero Museum or to have a bite at Versailles, it's worth heading over to Calle Junin, a shopping street that gives a taste of some of the old charm of the city.

As always, show some precaution, especially when walking downtown. I suggest taking money out at an ATM in a shopping mall before going downtown instead of on the Junin street itself.

Have fun!

Jardin Botanico de Medellin

Due to the importance of flowers to the Antioquia region, I'm giving special attention to the Jardín Botánico de Medellín.

The Botanical Gardens in Medellin completed it's revamp last year (2008) with the addition of the In Situ restaurant making this a great outing.

Parks in Medellin

If you want to take a little time to relax in one of the parks in Medellin you can read about them here. Many have emerged literally over the last 3 years.

This is a city to be explored and discovered. With a little insight there are many hidden and fascinating attractions in Medellin waiting to be found.
