Driving Medellin Bogota is absolutely possible. Here you can get some insight into the trip.

Last week, my wife and I drove Medellin Bogota on Monday and returned the following Friday. We drove in a 1 liter Renault Twingo and for those who are interested in how the experience was, here are some insights...

The distance is 400 kilometers or roughly 250 miles. Really not that far in terms of distance, but as so many of us have found out sooner or later, the Andes, even the tail end, are not to be taken lightly.

The outgoing trip took us exactly 12 hours - nothing to brag about - and we spent 10 hours on the way back. As always, predictions by optimistic friends were far less than realistic, ranging from 6 to 9 hours. I'm not saying it can't be done in those times, it can, but is it safe and worth it? Granted, our car is not the fastest by far, but still.
