Learning Spanish online is for many people the easiest and most affordable way to learn something of the basics before getting immersed in Medellin where you might very well need some phrases in order to get around smoothly.
Eventually, actually talking to people and getting used to their colloquialisms is necessary, also because Spanish varies from country to country and even region to region in Colombia.
So what are the options?
Most of the online solutions offer part of their teaching for free and endorse a sale of their courses after a certain level. Not surprisingly. So basically, you can get something for free and if you opt to buy their CDs, well up to you.
